Choosing a wedding venue is a deeply personal choice with couples striving to meet their personal requirements and ambitions for their wedding day. Whilst there are a wide range of wedding venues for newly engaged couples to consider; from newly constructed, purpose built wedding venues to repurposed old manor houses, there are a few wedding venues that are truly unique amongst the crowd. Even defining what makes a wedding venue unique is open to a great deal of interpretation. Having listened to and formed great relationships with a wide range of wedding couples over many years, we believe we offer the key elements couples look for in making a venue tick the unique boxes.
Venue location and impression
There are two elements to a wedding venue location that couples look for. Firstly, the wedding venue is easy to get to via great transport links and being centrally located in the country, enabling an easier convergence of family and friends for couples’ wedding day. Secondly, a wedding venue that impresses and offers stunning outdoor views and connection with nature, as well as being visually uplifting internally! Quite often, well located wedding venues are often at the disadvantage of limited views due to their suburban or urban location. Alternatively, there are venues that offer stunning coastal or rural views; however, they are more often difficult to reach after several hours of travel to be finally approached finished with a demanding drive down narrow lanes.
Venue atmosphere
Couples seek out wedding venues that both they and their guests will feel comfortable within but also is able to sustain a celebratory atmosphere for their wedding party. All of this without neglecting a sense of occasion and celebration to impress their gathering? That is no small order! There are a range of beautiful stately home and castle venues that offer impressive facades for fabulous photos and backdrops. However, they may feel a little too formal for some couples and due to their listed status, they remain internally divided into various rooms for the ceremony, wedding breakfast, dancing, and bar spaces. Alternatively, there are increasing numbers of ‘ground up’ purpose built modern wedding venues. These are designed for an efficient operation and offer a more centralised open space for your wedding celebrations. However, whilst well-intentioned, these purpose-built wedding buildings can often lack character, feel too large and lack historic context.
