Couples seek out wedding venues that both they and their guests will feel comfortable within but also is able to sustain a celebratory atmosphere for their wedding party. All of this without neglecting a sense of occasion and celebration to impress their gathering? That is no small order! There are a range of beautiful stately home and castle venues that offer impressive facades for fabulous photos and backdrops. However, they may feel a little too formal for some couples and due to their listed status, they remain internally divided into various rooms for the ceremony, wedding breakfast, dancing, and bar spaces. Alternatively, there are increasing numbers of ‘ground up’ purpose built modern wedding venues. These are designed for an efficient operation and offer a more centralised open space for your wedding celebrations. However, whilst well-intentioned, these purpose-built wedding buildings can often lack character, feel too large and lack historic context.
Extraordinary Event Venues.
Venue Atmosphere
Unique Wedding Venues’ heritage can be directly traced to the Domesday Book entries and preceding Saxon settlements and through the tides of time forward through church elders, numerous knights, to landed gentry and eventually…. Us! Unique Venues combine rustic, contemporary barns with significant Grade 2 listed barns or orangeries within country house settings and beautiful rural locations. The venues comprise carefully renovated historic buildings and traditionally made, glazed walled oak barns. Of which all are set in rolling fields and grounds – which were former deer parks! The venues are approached by impressive driveways winding through estate grounds and grazing sheep. The views from the historic listed Ironstone barns, carefully renovated 1920’s orangery and glazed walled oak framed barns are stunning and span miles. Couples can marry in the painstakingly restored 1680s ironstone threshing barn or in the 1920s Orangery complete with 100-year-old crittall windows overlooking parkland which stretches southward. Or couples can opt for an outdoor wedding in a bandstand with a backdrop spanning 30 miles across three counties. All these venue settings are licenced for wedding ceremonies. Couples often describe our wedding venues as giving an atmosphere of “understated charm” when they try to put a finger on why they fall in love with these special places.
Unique Venues enjoy notable historic precedence, and this supports the sense of occasion. However, the venues’ great atmosphere is more than the combination of historic and contemporary buildings, amazing views, and its history. The layout of the venues’ flows brilliantly from daytime marriage ceremony and celebration to afternoon feasting and evening celebrations. The wonderful natural light and countryside views during the wedding ceremony, reception drinks and wedding breakfast feasts give way to sympathetic, stunning state of the art lighting within historic building backdrops bathed in light. The Oak framed party barns are where all your gathered family and friends can, within one interlinked open barn space; dance, eat, drink and be merry into the night! The wedding venues have a range of almost quirky elements including keeping your wedding breakfast barn a surprise until later, when guests are called through to a breath-taking spectacular oak barn setting with amazing views.
